Wimbledon College currently works in partnership with St Marys University Twickenham and Roehampton University to offer teacher training in a range of subjects (PGCE only).
All trainee teachers are supported by weekly mentor meetings and a comprehensive CPD programme that aims to develop Teaching and Learning but also focuses on wider professional development including school ethos, time management and interview skills.
Feedback from current PGCE cohort
“The PGCE programme offers exceptionally supportive and inclusive training that looks to develop every aspect of our professional development. The course was extremely thorough and as a result it has fully prepared me for my NQT year.”
“Wimbledon College has assisted me in raising my teaching to a very high standard through constant support and a range of exceptional CPD sessions. I particularly valued the ethos of Wimbledon College that not only educates young men, but also develops their character and virtue so that every student can become A Man for Others.”
“The strong relationship built with dedicated subject mentors creates a training that can be tailored to each trainee's individual needs and offers a high level of support.”
“I really enjoyed my foundation placement at Wimbledon College. This was due to the extensive CPD programme and the support I received from all staff.”
