Congratulations to our Rhetoric pupils on their well-deserved A Level results. We are very pleased with our A Level results this year. While the percentage of A*-C grades, at 73%, and A* - E grades, at 99.7%, remained in line with last year, we have seen a significant increase in the number of top grades awarded. The percentage of all examination results graded A*/A has increased from 16% to 21%.
As well as the good overall results there are a number of boys who have achieved outstanding individual results. They include: Karol Ciszek who achieved 4 A* grades and who has a place to study Mathematics and Computing Science at Imperial College; Daniel Mercieca who achieved 2A*, 1 A and an A* grade in his Extended Project; Luke Lockley who achieved 2 A*, 1 B and an A* in his Extended Project; Joe Collingwood, Ciaran Hoban, James Moran and Tom Murphy who all achieved an A* and 2 A grades [James also achieved an A grade in his EPQ]; Niall Kelly who achieved 2A* and a C and Farsab Nadeem and Michael Ventom who both achieved A*, A, B. Michael also achieved an A* in his EPQ.
It is pleasing to see that of those boys hoping to go on to university the majority have received confirmed places at their chosen university and that others are being offered places through the UCAS clearing process. A number of other boys are taking up apprenticeship offers. Courses that the boys have places on include Anthropology, Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Business Management, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, English Literature, Geography, History, Medicine, Molecular Genetics, Philosophy, Politics, Real Estate Management and Translation & Modern Languages.
Well done to all of our A Level pupils.
