Christmas School production
Following the success of Bugsy Malone last Christmas, the College Production team brought the famous tale of A Christmas Carol (Gary Owen and Adrienne Quartly) to the stage with the same energy and passion.
The set, created by Mr England and with the help of his team of staff and the stage design club, was a beautiful backdrop of a Victorian street complete with shops named after Dickens' characters for the observant audience member to spot, snowy window ledges, a massive roast dinner, and one of the star features of a clock whose hands moved backwards and forwards as Scrooge travelled with his ghosts to learn about what could be his fate if he doesn't mend his ways. The cast of 50 boys were incredibly enjoyable to watch, as led by Ethan as Scrooge, they took the audience on the journey of learning that having a lot of money is a cold, bitter lonely experience without love. The performance of the cast was a joyous ensemble of movement, song, dance and a lovely array of characters to entertain the audience. All of this superbly supported by Mr Thomas, who along with a small band of talented musicians of boys from different years, accompanied the action of the play with a full range of songs and Christmas carols and a stunning overture to create the atmosphere for the audience at the start.
Look out for the Easter production of The Frogs, and our play to celebrate Paschaltide of the The Mysteries.
